Woman have shown over recent years that they can be taken seriously when it comes to sports and have ensured their names go down in history as some of the greatest athletes of our time. Women have made head way in some sports but not all. Some of the most influential women in the sporting industry have started to path the way for future women in this industry.

In a sport that is rules men, MMA fighter “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey has made a name for herself that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Brittney Griner’s pro ball career is just at its beginning as her athleticism physical style made her one of the most leading players in NCAA women’s basketball. She is has been labelled as the shot blocking player and has a record of 18 dunks in her college days player as proof.

Stacey Allaster is the CEO of The Womans Tennis Assoication and has been signed on for 5 more years. She has the title of Most Powerful Woman in Sports. The international stars that are making tennis relevant like Maria Sharapova, Li Na, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka help Allaster make a great name for herself.

NASCAR driver Danica Patrick is the most successful and influential woman in sports history due to her being the face of female NASCAR drivers. She’s won a single race in her young nine year career she has be able to make herself into household name and is more well-known than any man is this field.

Serena Williams has dominated her sport with eight doubles Grand Slams and 13 individual Grand Slams wins and received three Olympic gold medals. Williams has received more publicity for her talent in this sport than most sports people. She is one of most influential people in sports than anyone else.

When alpine skier Lindsey Vonn had to tell the world she had not recovered from a knee injury to compete, the NBC reacted fast and brought her on board as a correspondent for the Today show. She is one most adorned women in the sport’s history and has only risen in her career year after year.
